↳ I grew up in the Greater Toronto Area.. So basically, I'm not actually from Toronto, but I will very confidently lie and tell other people I'm from Toronto. Ah, the cn tower..I think I've heard it before..

Things I am actually passionate about outside of School or Work:
↳ Played competitive sports growing up like snowboard racing, hockey, volleyball, and badminton. Sometimes I wish I spent that time into c++ growing up, but I don't regret the social and community aspect.
↳ I've liked Poker since gr8. One of my current favourite pro players is Shiina Okamoto(Japan's female Phil Ivey), She's an ex-investment banker, (quit job to go pro)
And I believe there is a skill gap (she's abusing) between Shiina and the rest of the female pros. She's much more cold-blooded / sharper math playing range instinct than her WSOP competition at least. She finds exploits/vulnerabilities well,
and very capable of rivalling the male pros as she continues to study hard. Even though she can barely speak english in her analysis, I fear lots of thoughtful strategy through her polarizing loose yet bully-aggresive style. She is rather dangerous and uncomfortable to play against in her prime. (Dominating in ICM tournaments, not cash)
↳ In highschool I convinced myself I liked financial markets enough for a career. I was not coding. I thought I cared about markets since my family background revolves around it, and naturally financial literacy is crucial to becoming a proper member of society. But I'm unsure if I would find meaning in pursuing math finance or financial modelling. To me, much of the "myopic" nuances end up turning into a sophisticated casino(esp. asian markets), rather than long-term hedges which frame the american market as a "black-box" system for geo-politics/macro-economics..Diplomacy and world-wide controversy are also topics I'm naturally interested in. I value Learning about human perspectives, nature of war/battle, and the essence of control.
However, I do deeply appreciate good strategies deployed by hedge funds.
I would not personally dedicate my life towards becoming a subject matter expert, but I love a good laugh on Jane Street bullying the entire indian market for billions of dollars. The subprime loan situation in 2008 tells us fish, that the whales and driving forces of the market are held together by people no brighter than the fish. At the core of many mysterious/"prestigous" institutions, lie human beings that make awfully human decisions. The markets to my impression, are a hugely complicated circus comedy clown fest of pretentious whales and unknowledgable fish.
↳ I've played drums since middle school---I'm a huge groove pattern enthusiast, and good instrumentals are nearly proportional to my work productivity. That's an exaggeration/joke, but either I have adhd, or its normal to need music to lock in.

I enjoy collecting a wide range of songs/genres across Latin, Afro, rnb, c/kpop, synth/electronic-club/banger, modern trap, classical, jazz, and soul---just about anything music and noise adjacent lol, except for some modern EDM. that trash is nonsense and pure unorganized noise. modern EDM needs to learn the treble and bass clefs before fixing their bass.
I also accidently won the dance award in elementary school. I was a fan of the 1million studio until they basically died in 2016(prior to rise of douyin/tiktok), due to choreographers quitting their job. I am currently unflexible and obese, as I continue to become a sedentary corporate shrimp with time progressing.
↳ Mild fitness enthusiast.
↳ I also enjoy studying optimal excercise-science and nutrition. I wouldn't identify as a meathead neanderthal ape, but I do think hypertrophy and having your central nervous system firing under load is good for your health--especially after spending hours not being able to solve a problem.

↳ If anything about my background speaks to you, please do reach out, I would love to make new friends and get to know more people !
